TimBar Enters 55th Year of Business

TimBar Packaging & Display is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year. The company is a designer and manufacturer of corrugated packaging products including corrugated sheets, shipping containers, retail packaging, point-of-purchase displays, food service packaging and protective packaging.

Anticipating and meeting customers' needs with innovative, quality products has been the mainstay of TimBar Packaging & Display and continues to be the focus of the more than 800 employees. In addition, TimBar has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and belief in the importance of turning money back into development and investment. Even through the current economic difficulties, the company made a few key investments. In October 2009 TimBar added a 38" x 94" Bobst / Martin, 4-color Flexo Folder Gluer with die cutting section to its box converting line up in Miami. It also installed a much needed conveyor system at the New Oxford facility. "We are very strategic about our investments and focus on those that will enable us to work more safely, make significant productivity gains or capture the best market opportunities available to our businesses", stated Matthew Heleva, President/CEO.. "But our people are the real key to our success", he added. "We were all truly challenged this past year and I'm proud to say that our people not only met the challenge but exceeded expectations. They have a unified focus, understand how important every person is to the overall success of our organization and are committed to retaining the successful business they've built over the past 55 years".

That unified focus includes a priority on safety and wellness. The company's safety performance has been recognized over the years with numerous awards from the AICC (Association of Independent Corrugated Converters). Additionally, the company's New Oxford facility achieved certification to the independent Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) fiber sourcing standard this past year. Jim Simpson, VP / Area General Manager stated, "We have a strong commitment to our forests and so do our customers. SFI fiber sourcing certification empowers our customers to make an educated environmental choice about the corrugated packaging they buy."

TimBar Packaging & Display was originally founded as Oxford Container in New Oxford, Pennsylvania and continues to house its primary manufacturing facility at that location. In addition to the New Oxford site, the company has corporate offices in Hanover, Pennsylvania and additional manufacturing sites, fulfillment centers and design/sales offices in Nashville, TN, Spartanburg SC, Mayfield NY, Fair Lawn, NJ, Providence RI, Tampa and Miami Florida.
